Hello yall,
Want to get into racing onroad cars but theres sooo many options out there. Looking for something that is affordable and yet can be competitive on the track. I do want to race. Any ideas???

Give a price range your willing to spend.

I'd say for a all around car the AE TC3 should make you happy.

I definitely agree with the AE TC3. Awesome 1/10th scale car for the money. And there are so many parts readily available. As for the more expensive 1/8th scale. I bought a Power Racing XR8 ready to run last summer and love it. I scraped the radio that came with it as it is total junk. I just dropped my xtra receiver from my Spectrum in there and we were good to go. The XR8 can be upgraded to the more expensive XR80 form relitively cheap as you see fit. And alot of Serpent parts fit this car. (wheels and tires, gas tank, etc.) If you opt for a ready to run I would suggest that you check the set-up. In my opinion the term "Ready to Run" is crap. These cars are slapped together. I had to go through mine after the first run because parts started comming loose, and my tires started to cone pretty bad. But after going through the car and lock tighting every thing that needed it and putting it on the set up board that was purchased after the fact. It is alot more fun running the car week after week than dumping a boat load of cash into a poorly set up rig or one that drops parts all over the track or parking lot.

Excuse my mistake earlier. The XR80 is the ready to run. And XR8 is the hopped up race version.:D

Hands Down RTR NTC3 or Team NTC3

I have the NTC3 and I love it. I can keep up with the 710 and 720 sepents. It all depends on how involved you want to get. The TC3 has the cheapest repalcement parts I have found. The Associated TC3 provides all of the necesary performance adjustment (set-ups) required to race, and it is so easy to work on too. If you get the RTR its about $339, but it you buy the team car it comes with many of the hop-ups you just have to put it together.
