I'm have a 1st generation t-maxx i exprienced the same problems.Proline sells an offset dish wheel which will widen the stance of your truck.this will help and also drop the ride height down a little bit. If you are running stock tires make sure that the tread pattern are all going in the same direction.(the v should point in the forward direction) if the front or rears are backwards it will cause it to flip very easily.
 
I was just wondering what weight shock oil do u guys run?

i run 40Wt in the front and 90Wt in the rear(i can't find springs big enough to fit the rear shocks)

i took 1 shock from each wheel took it apart, and put about 1/2 inch of fuel line in and put shock back together. havent had any more probs with rollover

thats another way to limit shock travel but u will find that after awhile the fuel tubing will rip and u will have chunks of fuel tubing in ur shock. Also the fuel tubing kinda gets really soft and starts to desinagrate.

hadn't thought of that. What about stacking up extra shock o-rings in there? They wouldn't deteriorate. They are made to sit in oil. You would still get the same cushion effect.
 
The key to success on this is a wider stance and a lower CG. Most of the CG lowering ideas end up decreasing suspension travel and ride height. This is not always a good thing for off road bashing.

As for widening your stance, you can accomplish this in several ways that can be taken one at a time for a little width or cumulative for a lot of width.

First, the ProLine WideMaxx a-arms or the RPM equivalent will add a total of one inch in width (1/2 inch per side).

Next, are RPM StableMaxx rims or ProLine wide offset rims. These also add a 1/2 inch per side.

Finally, wider tires like the ProLine 40 series or IMEX JumboMaxx tires which give a much larger footprint than stock and add approximately 1 inch per side in width.

Taken all together you can get upwards of 2 inches per side in extra width for your old style stock Maxx.

This wider stance will make the truck more stable in turns and decrease the likelihood of rollovers.

If you decrease the ride height on top of the wider stance, you will make the truck virtually roll proof.

As I am not a big believer in sway bars, I will not comment on their effectiveness.
 
Sway bars have thier place just as much as anything else. I've tried them on a maxx (full force rc 2.5 sway kit). They did their job and didn't comprimise shock movement, but the parts wore out quickly and I never replaced them. Just took them off.
 
your right maxx but if you rebuild and replace fluid in shocks wont be a problem
