wher do you buy them at or do you fabricate them? does anyone know if they make 1 for the xtr3e?

do a search for roll cages I'm sure Tons of links will pop up.
search ebay I seem em on there all the time.

As for fabing your own, If you have the equipment and skills do it.
I mocked one up outa wood dowl rod and now I'm gona weld up my own.

In my impartial, unbiased opinion, RC solutions makes the best cage. Here is a pic of an rc solutions roll cage on my own truck:

You can get ones like this and for the savage and soon the AE MGT at www.rc-solutions.com

What is the price tag again? And does any body fit over it?

Well Any body will fit over it but the truck bodies you have to cut out the bed

Dougc is right, any body will fit. Pickups need to be cut in the bed to cler the cage, like this

Retail price on a stock t/e maxx cage is 104.95

No on-road cars at this time, just monster trucks. One problem with cages for most on-road, stadium trucks, and 1/8 buggies is that the bodies fit tight to the chassis. On my storm the head is higher than the body, so there is no room for a cage.

Yes the stock traxxas ez start still works, the cage comes with a bracket for the power jack. Roto starts also work.

I went with new era's 3-point roll bar for my maxx. After drilling 1 hole in the 21 conversion it fit. I have literally beat the crap out of this thing and havn't broken a engine head or shock tower yet. Here's a link if your interested, (not sure how to add a picture):

I first bought a roll cage, but was always cutting zipties and unscrewing bolts taking it off to do repairs on anything. It also vibrated on the chassis and created allot of interference. Granted, it wasn't the one that is in the above post (which looks really cool), it was a typical steel welded roll cage.

This three point rocks. You can do most work around it and there isn't any vibration interference from it. It bolts solidly to the chassis.

The New Era 3-point is an awesome roll bar. Solid as a rock and it has never failed me in over a year of bashing. I always thought it was going to mess up my gas tank but it never has. Great roll bar and very simple.

I recently started using the RC Solutions roll cage and it is also awesome. Tough as nails. It offers a HUGE amount of protection and you can still work on your truck - unlike some other "cages" out there.
