Roll Cages

eh... depends on the cage I suppose. There are a number of cages out there on the market and they range in cost. I look at it like this... a roll cage is going to set you back $XX.XX. If the truck takes a large hit and wrecks the cage but saves a majority of the truck then you've just spent $XX.XX on a cage that you can now throw away instead of $XX.XX to simply fix the truck if you didn't buy a cage. It can be a toss up because you don't really know what could be more expensive, fixing the truck or buying a new cage. Ideally, a roll cage could take a big hit, save the major components of the truck and not take extreme damage itself therefore being reusable beyond one major accident.

I just make my own "hack" roll bars. I hate working around/through a cage.

The round bar ones normally get tweaked pretty easy, but they do a decent job of absorbing the impact on roof landings. Then you just bend them back.

The RC Solutions type cages are good for direct roof landings only. A off angle rear landing destroys most of them which is $100+ to replace the cage.

Sweet
the other day i got my car up to about 40 mph and i hit a bump i didnt see and it flipped and landed on roof and skid for about 20 feet before tumbling end over end. it really sucked because it messed up alot of stuff with the motor mts. and the chasis.

New era makes a good one that is easy to work around.

this is what it looks like and about 64.00 bucks and it is a beast of a bar.

ya i bought one that looked just like brads off of ebay! it was cheap! $20.00! its made out or big solid steel rods. its so strong i can actually stand on my cage (if its off the truck) and its stands the pressure! it was actualy gaurenteded in the ebay page you could stand on it! i weigh only 100 pounds so. any way i think it was a great investment! its strong, protectes everything, and it was cheep! you could probly make one your self! it be nice if it was made of aluminum because the steel is a bit heavy but worth the protection. my cage mounts between the bumpers. i also hav the traxxas aluminum bupers and it still works. get a rollcage IT REALLY HELPS! by the way dont get a flimsy one like twocane or the adds on the left of this page. i really think the ebay ones are the strongest! BUY ONE TODAY!

My name and flimsy do not go together at all. So with that said my 105 pound niece stood on mine a few times before the install. :)

These guys are crazy!!!!!!!! First of all cages are not expensive, Ebay, $15-$20,,, Second of all if you bash a roll cage is a must!! I can't tell you how many times my cage saved my Maxx. IMO GET A ROLL CAGE

This is the one i bought

Thats The Same one i got and its held up good 30' in teh air and land on ur lid and not break anything it works great just half to bend it back once in a while

Both were pretty square on the roof. A cage would definitly help for those kinds of bad landings.

However, they won't do a lot of good when landing on your nose or your rear at an angle. That's how I folded my RCS cage and really tweaked my steel cage.

that second video jump is about 20 or so feet
the roll cages sound like a good idea!

ok it was about 15 ta 20 but it was high

wach my vids

15 ft. is believable. I don't think anything is gonna take a 30 ft. drop and not break something.

That's how I folded my RCS cage and really tweaked my steel cage.

that's why I'm not a fan of cages that are ultra stiff. Not to bash RCS but I just don't like the design at all. IMO it's destined to be a waste of $100 at some point.

the front flip i actually landed but it bounced and i think I'm guna geta trypod or a better camera man ;) and as for landing on your rear corner bent the cace their but i didnt break my rpm tru-trac control arms
