I bought the rfg2 light so i could learn to fly helis. What a blast.I can fly ok right now.But i still can't get my heli to hover any suggestions on how to do this.

I can keep it leavel but can't get it to stay still.and i can only do it when i first get it off the ground. I whould like to be able to take it from flight to hover. In the air not 6'' off the ground.

you just got keep trying i had the time of my life trying to get it going, but now i can at least fly around you gotta kinda visulize how its moving and i always fly behind my plane

Ya thats what i do fly behind.iam pretty good with the trainer heli.take offs and landing.and the plains were a breaze to learn. The pt40 is an easy flyer.
But the hovering has go me by the BALLS lol.

It's not a good idea to fly the heli with the pilot's view behind plane. Pick your takeoff position, then zoom in till the heli is almost full screen. If the lite version is like G2, the rotor is always center screen. Zoom in till the tail is at the edge of the screen.
Set the radio on Low Rate. Practice, Practice, Practice. Minimum stick movement. Keep the heli facing to the right all the time, till you can hover it that way. Then start hovering in different directions. Facing left, nose out, then nose in. Practice, Practice, Practice.
Since you have the lite version instead of G2, I can't send you a heli file of a Jet Ranger that behaves as gently as the real thing. You should have spent the extra bucks for G2.
ALL the helis are 'twitchy' because it's a trainer, not a game. If you can master flight and hovering on the sim, it's actually easier with the real thing.

thanks for the tips rolex.the g2 light does have the Jet Ranger.and is up gradeable.so i have been told.iam going to try your tips tonite

The Jet Ranger that I'm referring to is one that I edited. I spent about 100 hours on it over a couple of weeks. It behaves like my real R/C heli does.
Everything in it has been adjusted, from the collective, pitch, roll, yaw, CG, servo end points, servo speed, weight, RPM, etc, etc. right down to the fan size, since the fan also has a gyroscopic effect on it. I also made a lot of changes in the computer radio.
I'm not sure if you have all those option in Lite, so I don't know if you can use a heli edited in G2 for your version.
There might be a little white bubble canopy in Lite, it's called the Schweitzer or Spritzer. One of those names will also say 4 stroke. That's not the one you want. The little one is the best stock flier in G2. See if you have it on Lite.

well it says its a bell jet ranger? But any way i did what you said to do.I picked a set point.and zoomed in. After 15 miniuts i got i to hover.
whooooooooooooooo hoooooo you rock rolex.....Iam going to buy the up grade for my lite.i can get it for i think 85$.I bought it off ebay for lite that is.For 100$ so i didn't think i could go wrong at that price

That must be something new. Is it an upgrade from Lite to G2? If it is, go for it.
Once you get it, PM me and let me know when it's up and running, and I'll Email you the files for the Rotor Floater. That's the edited heli. You need to install 3 files in the G2 program to run it. The Heli file, the Rotor file and the Paint file. You'll be amazed by how it handles.

Ya it is an upgrade from the lite to the full G2.i should be getting it the end of month. If i don't spend to much else were.OH and did i say your the man.
As my time goes on useing RFG2.i hope to talk to you more as i learn.

I've had it for almost 3 years now. I've also done paint jobs on several planes. Any info you need, let me know.
I've also got 2 custom airports that will knock your socks off. Once you get them, everything that's stock will bore you.
Again, about a hundred hours each to build.
One of them is on the KnifeEdge site, download page, called 'Castle Moon'. I think it might also say (F6) since it's made to fly with pilot behind plane. A figure 8 cource with tunnels to fly through and a castle 200 feet high.
See if you can download it, but I'm not sure if it will install without the full version of G2.
If it installs, drop me a PM and I'll Email you the other airport, 'Willow Lake'. More of the same, tunnels and bridges to fly under or through, and a beautiful place just for sightseeing. Castle Moon is on a flat field, but Willow Lake is full 3D.
