Hi , I'm new to the forum so i apologize if this is a repeat Q , but I'm looking to trade for a revo 2.5 with a new 3.3 installed on it. I was wondering how well the running gears and tranny hold up on the trucks, I'm in a bind with my current rc trucks I'm always replaceing gears , and would like to slow down in that area if possible.
Thank you.:)

The only time I have had trouble with the gears on my Revo 3.3 was when I blew the reverse on it. If you can, I would recommend going to the Forward Only Conversion (FOC). That strengthens the tranny immensely. If that's not enough there are aftermarket gears sets available.

cool , thanks for the reply . I'm looking through the upgrades now. Seems like the ideal truck to upgrade to.

Spurs do tend to strip on the revo. At least they did for me. Usually due to a band landing tweaking the engine bay, then the spur gear fries. They are pretty cheap though... not sure what gears you've been stripping. Diff gears can get pricey.

+1 on the FOC change. Once I installed that in my revo, I rarely had an internal trans problem and I ran a BB conversion on mine for quite some time.
