Revo update

Its been awhile since I have posted anything about my revo so I thought I would post a few updates as I tore it down for maintenance this weekend. Since I got my XL I decided to convert the revo into more of a truggy style truck and not a monster truck. I removed the trenchers and the rc-solutions cage and retuned all of the suspension setup.

Here it is before as a monster truck:

And my favorite thing about the revo is how fast it can be disassembled for cleaning and repair. This shot was taken after 10 minutes worth of disassembly time:

Some of you may remeber the problem I was having with shock ends and rod ends breaking. Well I think the RPM rod ends have solved my problem! I have a little over 2 gallons of extreme abuse on this truck since switching to the RPM ends and they still look just like new. Not a single one of them is stretched,bent,broke or worn out.

Sorry, I vaguely remember the thread, but did you try/find anything for shocks as well or just the push rods?

I just replaced the rod ends on the pushrods with rpm ends and havent broken a shock since. I think the shocks were breaking due to worn out rod ends with a lot of slop in them allowing them to jerk the shock end very hard when they bottomed out or hit full droop. I was wearing out a set of stock rod ends almost evey 1/2 gallon if not faster. The RPM ends have 2 gallons of insane abuse on them and are not worn at all.

They are losi 1/2" offset dish wheels with HPI dirt bonz tires. I dont really like how much sidewall they have mounted on these wheels but they handle really well on almost any terrain I have tried them on.

How did you get it that low? I have been trying to a.ccomplish that

put the pushrods in the holes farthest out on the control arms and then adjust the shock preload until the arms sit parallel to the ground after a drop from about 6". You will most likely need to change the springs and shock oil as well just to get a better handle but they will not affect ride height.
