Hey all, long story short. Blew my engine to pieces a couple of days ago and decided to take apart my truck while waiting for the new one to arrive and give it a good cleaning plus check-up on all the parts. However, I'm new to this with 4wd and 2geared trannys.

As for my question, will there be oil or any other fluids to expect when I open up the tranny? Know there is in the diffs so won't fiddle to much with em.

There will only be fluid in the diffs which you should at least check for leakage. Tranny gears themselves probably don't have anything on them.

Alright, will be careful when I fiddle with it then. Just going to check so nothings in more pieces than it should be so hopefully I won't end up having to buy a new tranny as well :p

revo trannies are so easy to work on.. u will be fine.. if there isnt a lil grease on the gears u probably should put some when u re assemble it

Yepp noticed when I opened it up, much less parts in it than expected. Noticed the gearing had a little grease on em so they should be fine for a bit longer.

Also went ahead and took off the rear arm assembly, was a bit tricky and will have to re-adjust the motor mount but was well worth it. Feelt like I had enough sand and dirt to replace what we got in the sandbox in there!

Now that most off the cleaning and check-up is done its time to put it all back together and break-in the new engine. My revo is begging me to drive it, even while I sleep!

I prefer the dry graphite over grease. Just my preference on plastic gears.

Alright, so got most of the truck together again. However I want to transplant the flywheel I got on my old engine to the new one, but the darned nut won't budge even an inch with the tools I got available at home. Any tips on how to get it off without breaking something by using brute force?

I hold mine with channel locks and turn the nut with an 8mm socket and ratchet. Then just tap the back of flywheel with ratchet and it falls right off.

Alright, will try it at work when I got some time to spare. Working in a cnc workshop got its advantages when you got this hobby :D

On another note, the servo which handles the forward and reverse switch has gone nuts. When set on forward its way to far from the pin or w.e its called and the same on reverse. I do know I accidently put on the cars electronics while assembling it with the controller off and the blue cable off from the box where all the cables go.

I really need to learn what those things are called I'm English but hopefully you understand what I'm trying to say.
