i was looking for that final thing to set off my revo just the last little bit i needed for racing and i looked into shock sox and found some on ebay and they are called badhorsie shock covers and i was wondering if any one has used these and if they are any good if you have used them or know somebody that has then please let me know or if you know where i can find some good ones let me know thank you

Yeah... their ok...

I have them on my savage and my revo. Both sets were made for a savage, so they are stretched a bit on the buggy shocks on the savage and a bit on the revo shocks.

They aren't as thick of a material as the Full Force socks are: http://www.fullforcerc.com/shock_boots.htm
I had the shiny blue ones a long time ago.

I bought a set of 16 off of ebay for $5 of the blue ones you see on the savage.

Would a shock sock made of a polyster-like material be better? Since it would help to repel the water better. What about making them out of a water-proof fabric? Unless there is one already available.

Thats a cool roll bar! What truck body do you use for it?

I'm going to try scotch gaurding them. I had the shiny ones from fullforce and they repeled water/mud for awhile. But after a gallon or so, the shiny kind of went away and they became more absorbant.

Thanks! I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet. Probably just a half body until I think of something... I haven't run it this way yet. It was my project this winter to get my savage ready for a serious beat'n this season... I hope it works out as well as it does in my head!

why dontyou get the bounty hunter body from hpi for your savage it will fit with the roll cage i have one but its hard to temp out the motor witht the body on so i took it off and laid it on the shelf and now I'm thinking of putting on my maxx for a bash body

Well... I didn't want to derail your thread with a story about me and mine...

Basically, for the same reason you don't like those types of bodies. Makes it to hard to get at the engine and fuel tank without chopping it all up. Then, what's the point? I just trashed a $30 body with a messed up paint job by cutting a bunch of holes in it to get at the tank and engine... Besides, I have 2 or 3 half bodies laying around from last season...

I tried sitting a suburban type body on it and it doesn't sit right either. Mostly because I have the roll bars angled back so that they can absorb impact before hitting my precious Skip shock towers.

I have the ones from TuffTrux (eBay id). I like them and they are checkered flag. I'll see if I have a pic.

I have the exact same ones on my revo build...

you can make your own sox. Just take some fabric (any kind you like) fold it over, sew it up, turn it inside out, cut to fit, BOOM, shox sox!

well i got a set of badhorsie sox in orange to go with all of my race bodies i hope i can get them soon can't wait to pull the shocks off refill with fliud and install sox and new springs and boom done time to race

badhorsie. work great and they are cheap. they stiffen up the shock just a bit too. i will always use badhorsie.
