I just installed the os.18tz in my truck and it will only start for a couple of seconds then cut out, and only if i pour a little nitro into the carb. I believe its just a carb issue(not getting enough fuel). brand new carb, brand new motor. Any suggestions?

it sounds to me that you don't have the needles set right (too lean) but thats just what i think it is for the simple fact that i had a problem similar and it was just too lean, so richen up ur high speed a quarter turn prime the engine and try again

put carb back at stock settings and now it fires right up but after 3 seconds running it goes full throttle. could it be some simple adjusting or do I have an airleak.

That depends. What's going full throttle? Is your servo moving the slide after it's running a bit? Or is the slide staying at idle position but the RPM's are going up on their own?

It's reving on it's own. Controller and receiver were on.

Sounds like a possible airleak--- When i get a new motor i seal it before i even start it----
Losi makes a green goop for sealing your engine--

HSN
LSN
Carb
Back Plate

I seal those 4 areas just to cover the airleak factor---

Also is your throttle servo centered? Check the idle gap also should be credit card thin!
