if you get the traxxas BB conversion kit , it has a bigger flywheel that comes with it ....but with a .30 engine , i would recommend going with a 3 shoe clutch with individual springs ...i havent had good luck with the stock traxxas clutches on my 3.3 ...i can just imagine what a .30 would do to it ....you could go with a composite one or an aluminum one ...my wasp has a composite 3 shoe ...seems to work fine ....my 3.3 has 3 shoe aluminum ...never had problems with that one

the single chamber pipe might be a bit restrictive , but it should work until you get a good pipe for it

thanks Macguyver,
i gotta do it on a LOW BUDGET, i got laid -off so no monies.
need to get the BB kit.
got to run stock clutch for a bit.
should i do SG pipe first or clutch kit first?

Pretty sure traxxas BB kit does not fit BB's with pull-starts of any kind. They are all bump start only. The only tried/true BB kit that does fit pretty much any BB into a revo is the new era leaner mount: http://www.neweramodels.com/item.cgi?session_id=&part_id=2553

Personally... if your tight on money, I'd suggest selling the 30 and just get a 3.3. Less fuel consumption and definitely less drive train agonies. The LRP30 is serious overkill for a revo and will most assuredly cause you axle problems and trans problems in a very short time.

I have a BB revo with the NE kit and I run a side pipe. I tried the trinity hi-flow supposedly a BB pipe, but it sucked horribly and really limited the power of a far lessor engine than the LRP30, was running an XTM24.7. I also tried the single chamber and dual chamber pipes, they were worse. So I went with a run of the mill side pipe and a modified duratrax warhead header to get the pipe far enough away so I could fit the body between the pipe and chassis.

Even running just the XTM 24.7, I changed out the clutch/bell with a 1/8th clutch/bell/flywheel. Had to move the trans forward about 1/4 inch, but it made it really reliable. Then I started shelling out trans gears. Primarily the top two speed shaft and/or the two speed gears. I put in a robinson racing steel top shaft gear set and it's been fine that way for quite a while. The stock axles/diffs are holding up pretty good though.

I just recently put in an SH 28 that I bought cheaply (that was a total POS and required a complete tear down, cleaning and sleeve pinch to make it worth trying to run). Now I have something slipping... Haven't run it but only one weekend since the install, so I haven't ferreted out the slipping issue yet. Guessing it's the slipper. Getting wheelies in 2nd gear is pretty cool though. ;)

By the way, I have 2 LRP28S3's, one in my savage and one in my aftershock. Supposedly, the 30 has more torque than that engine and honestly, I wouldn't even try running the LRP28 in my revo. It's a pretty powerful engine, throws both my heavily modified savage and aftershock around really well. Hard for me to imagine what the 30 would be like. Combine that with the fact that LRP's drink fuel like a drunk and you end up with a fairly non-economical way to destroy a truck! lol

one thing i found out today is the LRP.30 is suppose to have a lower case size the same as the .21 blocks.... we shall see
i got too good of a deal on the lrp and traxxas conversion kit to not take it
i did 4 hrs of labor and get new unopen LRP.30 and traxxas conversion kit:D
