First off ... Nice site ya got here, very informative for a noobe

Some friends and I just picked up some Revo's (5 to be exact) and I know myself and a couple others will frequent the Glamis Sand Dunes with them very soon.

I was wondering if there is anything special that needs to be done to them to make them sand worthy??

Also.........

Will the stock 2.5R turn some paddles??

The stock 2.5R should turn paddle tires if those are what you mean. And after you are finished, you should try to get the little bits of sand out of servos, and maybe gears. A air compressor will work great. Also i think you need to have different crystals so there is no interference. Another must is a fuel filter for cheap insurance.
Have Fun
click fuel filter its a link
lol

Yep .. already got the fuel filter and I already clean the truck with an air compressor so it sounds like I'm on the right track. :)

also ... I bought a 'Motor Saver' air filter ... Should I run it or the stock unit??

........and the differentials, are they sealed good enough for sand use??

If your talking radio interference for the trucks WE have then, yep .. we covered that too, we only had to change 1 out.

run the motorsaver filter , use the other as backup, diffs will be fine

You might want to plasti dip servos for extra reassurance.

pierow i second your opinion, but i also would do the receiver too. i was driving in a parking lot that had snow sand on it with my T-Maxx and some sand popped up inside and got into an open section in my receiver and i had to pick it out with some pliers and it was a pain in the a$$ could save you ALOT of time and maybe some money.

At the very least, I'd put the receiver in a balloon and ziptie the neck.

It may seem tight, but water and sand can get almost anywhere. Normally, it gets exactly where you don't want it.

Balloon the rx. After you zip the neck you can also out a drop of silicone in there too. If you want to take your rx apart you epoxy the board but it's a little much, ballooning is just quicker and easier.
