Well, got the RB TM 323 installed, broken in and running sweeeeeet.

Of course, what is R/C life without something breaking or going wrong.

I am sure it has nothing to do with installing the RB motor, but now my tank won't seal. This causes the exhaust/pressure line not to pressurize the tank and send fuel to the carb. I checked the line by blowing into it, and the tank as well. It is definitely leaking air from the tank seal. I tried first to tighten the seal with the two little screws that are on the inseide, bottom of the tank lid, no help. Then I loosened them, same thing, no help. I then went and bought the Revo fuel tank rebuild kit from Traxxas and installed the new blue seal ring. Still no help. I then tried putting two(both) rings in the seal but that would not work.

After fiddling with it I could get it to seal, but if I refueled I would have to peepee with it again just to make it seal.

Any ideas?
 
Try a bigger tank and call it a day. There might be a hole in your tank too. I have seen people put in a savage fuel tank at my track, how i have no clue. However their run times are forever!
 
I was pretty sure it was not my tank but I will try my T-Maxx spare tank and see if it helps. Just for a test. That's all I need it for.

Anyone make a metal tank for the Revo? I have the Integy guard on mine so I am surprised if it took any hits that caused a leak.
 
Hey RR, one of the guys I ran with last weekend had a 1/8th buggy tank rigged up in his Revo. I'll check on it when I run again in a couple weeks and let you know. I don't think it was actually legal though for racing.
 
Thanks Jet. I don't race my Revo, so legal, schmegal, it makes no difference to me. I'll await your return.
 
This month's RC Car Action has an article about a 'race' Revo and the guy put in a Kyosho 1/8th fuel tank. It still had the same capacity as the Revo tank.
 
Yeah, I saw that, but he is using the new Fantom CF chassis. The tank is in a different spot with a lot more wiggle room. I'll still look into it some more, though.
 
Try replacing the lid o-ring on your stock tank..They can be a major pain in the butt sometimes.
I'm going to ditch my stock tank sometime soon and go with a Trinity Spyder MT tank...You can use it and run the stock battery box but I'm running the Xtreme Racing carbon fiber battery tray anyway...Might be an option for you if you can come up with a fix.
 
I dont know if I am missing something here but just buy a new tank and be done with ?
 
Why buy a whole new tank if it is one little round piece of rubber that has gone wrong? And what if it keeps happening? I'll have 25 perfectly good tanks around just to keep one seal working! I was hoping someone else encountered this problem and knew of a fix for the seal. I think I will look into an aftermarket tank, though.
 
Hey RR, I'm back in Indy and should be racing this weekend. Hopefully the fella I was telling you about previously will be there and I'll get a look at his, maybe even a few pics if he'll let me.

Well if it keeps happening bro maybe its something you are doing wrong. Get a new tank. Save yourself a headache.

Is it blue and hold a Flat rx pack?
If so that thing looks sweet and helps handling by a mile. Saw a couple guys running it at the farm. A guy at my track runs the spider tanks. He can run 2 races with out pitting...
 
Most people are buying Trinity Spyder Tanks and Modding them to the chassis and going with a RC10GT RX Box. If a rebuilt kit did not help I would either replace the tank with another REVO tank or get the Spyder tank.
 
Yeah, Jet, that looks like the way to go. Bruce at Rush RC and some others seem to prefer that set up. I'll look into picking up a tank.
 
Me too now! I was running this weekend and my day ended early cause of some performance issues. Tore the truck apart today and low and behold what do I find, an f***ed up o-ring on my tank.
 
Jet, let me know what you end up doing. I tried doubling up (using 2 o-rings) the o-ring, a new o-ring, a rubber washer, everything. It looks like a different tank is the only cure. Getting a whole new Revo tank is not the answer as it will happen again, soon.
 
You know, the thought has crossed my mind to dig through the thousands of different o-rings we have in stock for the aircraft and see if I can find something. Outside of JetA we use some other pretty harsh fluids and have the packings to withstand them. Gotta be something it's just that they aren't in any kind of order so it will take some digging!

The Revo tank in known for screwing up all the time and eating lid o-rings like theres no tomorrow.
