Click here for the new REVO Foward only conversion. A good a tip from RD Racing Products make sure all you new REVO owners give this a try!

Thanks Roy!

Just to clarify, this is not the factory FOC, but a modification to your current tranny with some easily accessible parts. Not saying it is not a great mod, but not the one from Traxxas yet. That one is reported to come with aluminum shaft and rubber plugs to fill some holes.

LOL, Thanks for the clarification Glenn.

This is the "I can't wait another 2 weeks for the Traxxas FOC" conversion.

The only reason I put this half ass tutorial together was to slow down the emails I was getting from people asking how I did it.

Roy

I just put that in there cause when I read the subject line I got all excited and had my cc out ready to order it. . Just gonna have to wait though. This is my list, hopefully they are all available very soon:

FOC
Strarter box
adjustable motor mount to accept various motors
tires
motorsaver filters that are a direct fit

Also, nothing half-assed about that tutorial. Very well described and great pictures. When I get time in the next couple of days I plan on doing that to mine as well.

what are the advantages to doing a foc? does it make it any faster? or is it just a weight saver?

Well when I had a T-maxx it made instant forward engagement instead of waiting a split secong for the fwd on the tranny to kick in, it also meant less weight, and the best kind as it is a rotating weight and it was a good amount in the T-Maxx 2.5. So all in all acel was better and I had instant off the line go.

Yes Humboldt is right. Althought the REVO does not have the herky jerky start like the TMaxx did, it does alot to rid the drive train of rotating mass which helps acceleration. Add the removal of the EZ Start and that is a lot of unnecessary drag on the 2.5 The weight loss is really minimal.
