Revo exhaust flange cutting

I’ve seen a lot of older posts about this. And most have a link to a post that’s now close to 15 years old and won’t pull up. I’m hoping someone can give a current link to the post or just have pictures of what is done.

You just cut off 2-3mm or so of the flange where the header coupler goes on. They made it so big that it had a tendency to rip the coupler pretty quickly and it also would collide with the pipe during jumps and stuff causing it to break the header off the engine. After cutting it, you grind down the sharp edges. You want to leave a bit of the flange so the ziptie holds the coupler on still though.

I don't have any photo's of it. It might also depend on what header you have. It was more of an issue with the header that bolted to the engine vs using a spring to hold it onto the engine, which they used on later versions of the revo.

Part 5340, I put a line where you would cut it:

When 5340X came out, that's what I switched to anyway because I kept breaking the solid mounted ones where they are "welded" to the flange that bolts to the engine. Got expensive after the 3rd or 4th one in a month.
