Neither one of those engines will fit with the Traxxas conversion. Because they are pullstart or rotostart. If you wanted to use those you would need the NewEra conversion kit. It is a MUCH better kit anyway.

Problem with the Traxxas kit is you have to use a bumpstart engine and mod the upper A-arm to make the engine fit. The NewEra you can be up and running in a couple hours with no major mods at all. Very easy stuff.

Is the picco .26 a direct drop in? can i use the stock 3.3 engine mount?

thanks

i was able to fit a wasp .26 with pull start in my revo using the traxxas BB mount ...but it wasn't easy ...i could have used the new era mount ...but was to expensive for me ..and i saw from other guys pics that the engine sits up much higher with that mount ....my .26 sits almost as low as a 3.3...and the pull start clears the suspension arm by a hair :D...

what i did , is not for everybody ...takes a bit of patience ....i had to move the tranny 1/4 inch forward by doing some cutting on the chassis ... had to cut a piece off the mount to bring the engine forward 1/4 inch to ...and had to trim a couple other things ...but once done , everything would fit like a glove :)

so if you ask me , you can fit any engine ....just need some patience .....i didnt mind doing it because i had another revo to play with while i was building the BB revo ...but if you dont have the time or patience ...go with the new era mount and an engine that will fit

I moved my trans forward as well, but that was because I wanted to run a 1/8'th scale clutch/bell/flywheel. I have the NE mount and it does make the engine stand taller, which then causes it to dig into the ground nice when you roll it or land on the roof. There are ways to remedy that as well, but it is something to take into consideration.

I just installed the new era kit in my revo, and I LOVE IT....
it does move the engine higher up than the 3.3 but it also puts the weight of the bigger engine toward the center of the chassis more
i would say NEW ERA all the way

Whats wrong with the traxxas BB conversion kit? is it just for bump start only? and what engine option do i have if i would go with the traxxas BB conversion kit? The new era BB conversion is expensive for me:D

thanks

I dont know all engines that will fit with the traxxas BB kit
I do KNOW a LRP.30 w/ pull start will not fit.

I dont know the best prices for the traxxas kit, but most LHS in my area was only a few dollars lower than what traxxas listed it at, So for $10 bucks more i went with the new era kit.

Biggest thing for me was the fact it worked for the lrp.30 and i did not have to mod anything to make it fit and can use pullstart and spin start with no problems of it hitting the upper comtrol arm
and with the new era mount it puts the engine weight more toward the center of the chassis, Only down fall is the engine head is higher in the chassis

also the mount is a machine finished mount and not a cast mont like the traxxas one

might go with the new era if it just 10 to 20 bucks difference:). what pipe and header are you using? do you have pics of your set up:)

thanks

i will get some pics uploaded in the next day or two,
as far as header and pipe, hader is un-known brand
and the pipe is a tunable CVEC, they are no longer made and are hard to find.. i am waiting on funds to get a JP-3 pipe
