Hey guys I'm building a 3.3 that I got in parts and I'm doing the final touches with everything before I fire it up and I noticed that the throttle isn't opening all the way up. I have an integy throttle arm on it with brand new bearings and its only opening up the carb halfway. What hole should I have the throttle arm in? Cuz I have it in the hole closest to the engine. The servo is brand new. Its a traxxas 2055...I have tried adjusting the servo on my spektrum dx3s up to 150percent but it still only opens up to 3/4's of the way. Am I doing something wrong? The rx pack is fully charged. Can u guys help pleeeaaassseee!!!! Thanks

Use the closer hole, but you'll have to turn your carb and/or lsn housing to allow for maximum range of motion. Also the position of the servo horn has a part in it as well. I always had to run my stock radio on 70% vs 50-50 to get what I wanted. Maybe try a tekno linkage it'll make your life much easier, and throttle much smoother. It'll also open faster too.

You may want to try putting the throttle arm onto the outer mount (furthest one from the engine).

Also, turn you carb a couple degrees from paralell, so the inner most end is a tad further from the engine than the throttle arm side.

As an aside, try to avoid buying integy parts, the material sucks, the customer support is garbage (like their parts) and there is no warrqanty once you take the part out of the plastic bag it's in. If the integy throttle arm came in the parts, then fair enough, just DO NOT buy integy. it has a nickname around here and among people in the know.

We call integy stuff "intergarbage".

If you look straight at the servo from the 'driver's side' the horn should be a little bit forward of the center point on the servo. At full throttle you want it to be an equal distance BACK from center. That gives you the most throw possible. On the other end you'll have to adjust the carb or rotate the lsn housing so the throttle arm on the carb looks like it is close to coming out of the other one. Usually just turning the lsn housing so it's straight vertical will do it. Hope that helps.....but I know the tekno setup would cure it for good.

2revo............the stock setup works just perfect on my 3.3, plastic horn as well.

I don't intend to replace it either cos' it does it's job.

What is this tekno setup u speak of? Enlighten me!!!! Lol And yes I have heard of integy stuff being garbage!!! Maybe I should try and find the stock plastic throttle arm. I figured that an aluminum arm would still work the same as a plastic arm. But I guess integy can't even get that right...lol thanks for the quick response guys

it's not that integy can't get it right, it's that if the stock arm works, why change it in the first place ?

I didn't have the stock arm in the first place. I bought it cuz I got some other blue alum. Stuff. Anyways, I put. The throttle arm in the outermost hole, and it works great now!!!! Thanks everyone for ur help...especially u thunder tiger!!! That did the trick! I actually might have to lower the throttle trim because it opens past the carb, even with the throttle at 0!!! Thanks guys!!!

adeezy, dial out the throttle trim to zero and set the carb gap using the idle screw on the carb (look at the carb from the fuel tank side and you will see it). Set the carb so that you have a 1mm gap between the carb slide and the venturi, you should be good to go then....

You shouldn't need radio trim except, and only if required, to adjust the end point of the throttle servo.

oh, and adeezy, you're more than welcome to whatever help i can offer. So dont be a stranger when it comes to questions ;)

I really appreciate it buddy!!! And yea I know the gap needs adjusted cuz it looks almost like its an 1/8th of an inch. Lol I don't know how it got so open....but thanks buddy! Thanks a lot

Hope this helps, but I had this setup on my revo.

I had to change it to this.

The further back you can move it, the better throw you will have. If you have one of the round servo horns, it can only travel so far before it levels out.

I also agree with thunder, the stock arm works just fine.

Damn, those pics didn't work....anyways....ill post the link
