I posted this about 2 months ago but tried the search can't find it I am having a problem with my revo shifting it stays in 1st all the time top speed is like 25 mph I have tried ajusting the shift point seems to do nothing any ideas?

you might be too rich , and what way are you turnig you shift point , you turn ccw it will make it shift sooner and cw , shift later, try small increments at a time a retest , try leaning it abit and see what happens.

the internal clutch may be trash mine was no good i replaced and now it works great. but yea i would think your to rich .

No Really, you are running rich! Traxxas motors like temps around 250. Lean out little by little and watch as your shifting starts coming back.

The temps are too low, so you're running too rich. Most of the time the 3.3 runs 270 or so. I had the same problem getting mine to shift until I leaned it out and got it up to temp.

Well, the engine needs to spin fast enough to make the centrifugal clutch work. When you run rich it obviously decreases temperature and decreases performance. I say just keep uping the HSN until your temps are around 250-270. Listen to these guys here, they know what they are talking about ;).

Ya if your running 180 then your way fat! Lean that babbie out on the High speed needle untill you hit about 250 thats when I find a perfect tune rich enough to keep the mill going for a long time and lean enough to get power and punch out of it.

Where did you find 190F in the manual? Max temp according to the manual is 270F may be overheating.

This is from the manual, page 31, the explanation on tuning the HSN:
If any one of the following conditions occurs, the fuel
mixture is already past the maximum safe lean setting:
1. There is no longer any performance improvement.
2. The engine begins to cut out at high speed (Danger!).
3. There is a sudden loss of power during acceleration (Danger!).
4. The engine begins to overheat. Symptoms of overheating include:
Steam or smoke coming from the engine (not exhaust).
Hesitation or stalling during acceleration.
Popping or clattering sound when decelerating (detonation).
Fluctuating idle speed.
Temperature measurement above 270° F at the glow plug
(A temperature reading above 270° alone does not necessarily
indicate overheating. Look for other symptoms of overheating
combined with temperature for a more accurate warning).
Richen the fuel mixture to the optimum setting by richening the highspeed
needle at least 1/8 turn counterclockwise and retest. This setting
will extend engine component life.
