Hello every body i want to buy a new truck and i need some help deciding i curently have a mgt 8.0 but i want to get another truck more for racing.I can't decide between a revo 3.3 or a t-maxx 3.3i want a truck thats good for racing but will take the ocasional bashing. Please help!!!!!!!

Both have excellent support for parts and upgrades. I've never driven a TMaxx, but I've heard enough people on here say that it does need some upgrades to be as durable as a Revo. But if your really wanting a true MT, the Maxx may be the way to go. I personally love my Revo and haven't broken many things on it and it's been to hell and back with me driving it. :D

Revo or lst make the best racers.
T-maxx's cannot take the abuse of racing. I watched and laughed at everyone of them that showed up at my track. They all left in pieces within a few laps.

If you want to bash and race one of the best monster trucks out of the box is the LST line of family. The LST2 is on sale at Amainhobbies for only $460.00. Or of you wanted to go cheaper you could get the Aftershock for $320.00 off the same site. They are a extreamly well designed truck and nicely balanced. They are also a true 1/8th scale and are HUGE. They come with either the LST2, a JR XS3 channel computer radio, or Aftershock, an XR2i 2 channel radio. They are also big block from the start and no modding to them to put some real power behind them.

thanks alot guys i think i'm leening toward the revo 3.3 but i'm goin to wait until spring cause where i am has about 1.5 feet of snow and if i get it now i'll want to drive it and end up not being able to contain myself and with my luck i would take it out and reck the electrics

My 2.5 T-Maxx has many laps under it's belt. It's just as capable. I think maybe these t-maxx owners weren't as experienced as those who may have more exposure to rc and opt for a higher-end model. It's not always the equipment, it's a lot to do with driver skill.

I say the revo if your budget allows. It's a popular platform for both racing and bashing. The 3.3 T-Maxx is a great general basher.

ya i'm wanting to race the i bought the mgt 8.0 earlyer this year and now that i've gotin into this hobbie i would like sumthing to race i have raced and won with the 8.0 but it barly ever makes a double jump because there is to much power goin up the take off ramp so i dont usualy do good with it so i want sumthing better suited for racing the mgt is a awsome back yard on the grass truck where it dosn't spin so much but not suited for the track

there is nothing wrong with a revo for racing. i have two of them one is for bashing only and the other one is one of the most competative rigs in the truggy class in my club. with the right setup you can make a serious racer out of the revo nothing will outhandle a revo on the track..

Revo 3.3 in my opinions more durable and maybe even faster idk i like I've seen both trucks in action revo would be my option

well, i'm new to the R/C world. over in iraq right now waiting for my tmaxx 3.3 to arrive in the mail. i honestly know very little about this hobby, but i have a lot of time in the next year to learn. plus everyone on this site has been great with advise. so, after reading everyone's reply to this thread i'm worried that i may have bought the lower end traxxas. i know that as a newbie to this it will probably be a good place to start, maybe even over my head for a while. can anyone tell me that i'm getting my moneys worth?

The 3.3 is a decent basher rig, but for big air and hardcore bashing, you will need to revisit the arms (RPM), towers (RPM) and bulkheads (alloy).

Also, the steering needs upgraded to the newer version on the e-maxx that has a servo saver built in the linkage instead of mounted on the servo. That newer style along with bearings to replace the bushings is a much better steering setup.

Over all, it's a fun truck and they have made improvments on it, like the engine, diffs, axles, trans, but your still stuck with the above as weaker items.

Honestly though, the arms on the revo are also better as RPM, so that's a bit of a wash.
