Our REVO 2.5 has an OS .18 engine in it. The transmitter with the green light constantly flashes red. We're guessing it's because of a low battery. So we bought a new Traxxas battery and charged it. The light still flashes red as we move the servos. Is this still right? What does the flashing blue LED indicate?...communication between the tx and rx?

Frustrating to not understand this information.

Any help is appreciated.

yes it is...Opti drive. I noticed that one of the two servo motors that control the steering has the link removed. The servo is moving opposite of the other when we steer.

I also noticed that servo for the carb is pretty slow. There is a retrun large spring on that lever. The slowness is probably due to the power of the battery?

I guess is it possible I got another bad battery? How could I check the health of the battery?

thanks for the advice.

That spring is a known POS on the revo. Many stretch the spring a bit by hand so it's less oppressive on the weak throttle servo. Or, like me, you can redo your linkage entirely and ditch the spring.

You should hook the link up on your second steering servo. Unless it's toast, then I'd replace it. Honestly though, I'd ditch the two and replace them with one decent servo that has 150oz of torque or more. A lot of guys did that as well, me included.

Not sure what the optidrive problem is that your having though. I didn't run with the optidrive long enough to really learn about it. I ditched reverse pretty early on as I shelled the reverse gears in the trans which then tore up half the other gears in the trans. So when I repaired it, I replaced reverse with a forward only kit. One less servo and less crap to deal with.
