Not a lot between the 2.5 - 2.5R, engine head is about it. Did the revo even ever come with a old cast head 2.5? I thought it started life with the 2.5R.
A 2.5 chassis revo vs 3.3 chassis revo is that the 3.3 is a larger engine, chassis is stretched a few mm up front and P2 rockers come installed.

oh i see well ima do me some research cause my friend wants to get a pretty good monster truck or truggy but doesn't know which one would be better so iam just getting different opinions

If building a truggy, your money could be more well spent on a picco or OS, but in the revo, the 3.3 is great.
I'm a Traxxas guy myself, but don't buy a 3.3 for a custom truggy. If your friend is wanting a RTR monster truck or truggy, the REVO is a great place to start. Take a look at the new Platinum Edition...
