Hello! Hoping I can ask for a bit of assistance.
I'm in the midst of a tear-down / clean-up on my Savage and figured now would be a good time to install that reverse module I've had for awhile. Here's my question. Should the idler gear (which was already in the transmission) spin freely on the output shaft? It's not engaging the drive gears and if I spin the spur gear (when it is closed up) nothing moves. Here's a picture of what I am referring to:
The instructions are unclear. It's as if I am missing something that locks the idler gear onto the output shaft.
Thanks in advance for the assistance, I appreciate it!
