ok, i saw that the savage x is 2 speed..but I've been seeing things around that make me wonder if it has a reverse gear. does it?

how much speed does this add?

a lot? a little? and is the kit version the same as the already built version? the only difference is you have to put the kit together? and do you need anything extra for the kit?

IMO reverse is a waste of money, it's usually the first thing to go in the tranny.

A 3 speed tranny gives better performance through the rpms IMO, the top speed is not overwhelming but it is noticeable...It was in my 4.6.

so would it be smart to put a 3 speed in or just upgrade to some aluminum stuff 1st

the 3speed i like.......have it myself......most club races require the reverse linkage to be disabled when racing......be carefull using the reverse mod.....if the savage aint completely stopped when you shift into reverse or from reverse to foward it can damage the transmission.....i had it hapen to me....
