I was finishing up my Wasp .26 break-in and was being generous with throttle. I broke the gear keyway on the input shaft of my reverse module. Now the gear spins but doesn't move the shaft.

Is this engine too much for this reverse gear module or did I just have a bad module to start with?

I would like to buy another module but not if it will blow out again...

THX for any insight!!!

I've blown a gear in my reverse too. I think you're fine just as long as you don't drop it in reverse while the truck is moving forward

yeah, maybe it was all the driving on pavement I was doing on break-in

If you're talking about the shaft that you have to put the gear on (after taking it off the stock spool), it doesn't have that much metal in it. It's actually a sleeve, but you probably already know that. I'd contact HPI and tell them it failed, but I wouldn't tell em about the wasp. It shouldn't matter since the new SS kit has a .25 and is reverse upgradeable, but still..... You might get a waranty replacement.

Oh yeah, welcome to RCNT.

e404- tru tru. It was the sleeve that sheared. I'll see what HPI will do for me :) I have already ordered another with some spare shafts. I think I may need all the extra parts a can get:)

Thanx for the welcome and aprec the quick replies!
