Hey, everyone
This is the first active forum (other than reddit) that I have actively wanted to join since I rejoined the hobby a couple months ago. I got this trashed Redcat Blackout XTE half upgraded and screws missing everywhere for free.99 and have been having a blast pulling it back from the brink.
Putting a 15kg servo and replacing receiver(gyro) and transmitter next. Just put on some Traxis shocks and it absolutely rips. Lots of gear chatter low speed, not sure why, I assume the 3k redcat brushless is sensored but haven't figured out yet. To be honest it may just be no oil in the diffs, that is on the way as well. Does 40 mph on a 2s 5200 and is super solid.
I was hoping to get some recommendations for mounting the on off switch, I was thinking about making a mount that will let the switch poke out the protected lip in front of the rear shocks. (dremel a hole and make a small wire bracket to screw across on the inside).
Also, There is a ton of play in one of the front wheels between the initial linkage and the servo (the left front wheel has 4mm of travel with servo arm and other wheel being held stationary), I guess I could add bushings, but I'm gonna try an aluminum steering system upgrade first from aliexpress.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!
