I recently rebuilt the front end of my T-Maxx after a buddy drove it into a pole. I replaced the front bulkheads with aluminum, and the A-Arms with RPM arms. I also had to replace a couple of shocks and shock caps. Anyways, my question is this:

How do you know how tight to screw on the new arms? When the truck sinks into the suspension, the front tires angle outwards. How do I fix this problem? I was amazed how long it took me to replace the front end! It was at times frustrating, but fun over-all. Almost cost me 100 bucks though :(
 
Okay, What you do here is take off both front tires. There is a thing with two screws and they are noticeable. "KNUCKLES" You need to get the appropriate screwdriver, hex wrench or whatever it may take, and loosen both screws until the front end is evenly well straight. I hope you can understand. Here, I will take a picture.

I'm at work right now, so I can't take a pic, but I used those screws to align the tires, like you said. It's when I push down on the front end, and the suspension compresses, that the tires angle out. if I tighten the nuts, the tires angle in, and then straight when I push down. It's like all of a sudden the turnbuckles are too long, or too short or something.
 
Or Bent possibly? Thats all I can think about, Check on your turnbuckle settings.
 
If I'm reading this correctly, you are reffering to the camber of the tires. Camber is the tires position relative to the plane it is sitting on. The camber will change as the suspension is compressed. Also the camber is changed via the pillow block screws, the turnbuckles have nothing to do with it. The turnbuckles are used to adjust the toe.

I hope this helps...not confuse.

If it's the toe of the front tires, you may have your turnbuckles mounted wrong.

If you look down on the truck when it's at your feet and the front tires look like this: / \ somewhat, then you push the truck down and they look like this: \ / , then you have your turnbuckles bolted to the wrong sides of the carriers.

I just explained this to another guy at another forum, but he posted pics and I caught the mistake. I did the same thing on my maxx, but I did it to the rear tires. It's amazing that raising the point that the turnbuckles connect on the carriers makes such and impact, but it does.

Notice, on the inside, they mount on the top of the connecter bar (part 4943).

On the outside by the tire, they mount on the bottom of the axle carrier arm (part 4932):

Yeah, i have a problem kinda like that. When the suspension is fully extended the wheels are at no toe. Then when i compress the suspension, they toe out a lot. I was wondering if this is normal, i think i may have the turnbuckles mounted wrong.

Totally. Thanks a heap Olds, without even looking at my truck I'm sure that's what I did. Now I'm super pumped to go run my truck again after work.
