Is it ok to repaint your rims with the tires glued on? I don't want to have to remove the tires so does anyone have any tips on doing this?

Well.... if you paint the rims, its just gonna come off. But, I guess thats all you can do with your tires on. Just mask the outer part of your tires and you should be good to paint em.

I used wide masking tape to create a circle on the inner bead area of the tire. First I cleaned the rims/tires with soap/water. Then I wiped them down with DA. Then I applied the tape. I found that lexan paint stays on for quite a while. It gets dinged up, but it sticks pretty good compaired to typical hardware store rattle can paint.

All you have to do is make sure you mask the tires...also it wouoldnt hurt to skuff the rims with something along the lines of 120grit and up and then use some scotch bright to take out any scratches from the 120..this will help give the paint something more to bight into..also if you can find some get some lexan clear coat if you put this over the color you want not only will they be nice and shiny but it creates a nice protective layer over the paint and wont chip as easy....
