I just noticed this is an AM radio, IMO if your going to upgrade get an FM, I use the JR XR3i and like it a lot. I think Imbroken also has this radio.

The MX-A is a good radio. It is AM 2 channel, so there are better ones out there. The MX-A has all the same features as the MX-3 minus the 3rd channel and FM modulation, so it should be more than enough for yor rusty.

If you can, go for the XR3i, thats the radio I run and I love it. FM modulation gives you more range and less chance of glitching.

I would save a little more money until you can afford an FM set up, thats just my opinion.

I'd go with the 2pl myself. I had good luck out of that radio.

I wouldn't buy an expensive radio just to spend the bills, I just buy decent and put a failsafe on.

futaba 3pm radio, fm, 3 channel. Many features. I got mine on ebay for less than $95 (new, without servos). I can't speak for JR or Airtronics, as I have never used them. They are very good radios, from what I have heard. I only have used Futabas myself. Never a problem.

I have that as well but how would you rate the z590m servo against the hitec 645mg?

is the 590 crap?
good enough until it dies?

The z590m seems to be a good, strong servo, I have been using one in my Savage until yesterday. The Hitec is rated for more torque but I didn't notice it, it seems to be just as good as a 645m IMO. I don't know how it would do in the long run. The only reason I pulled it was I had something better than both of them
