So it's been in the high 50's low 60's up here in Southern Ontario Canada and I'm starting to regret selling my only nitro. Don't get me wrong I love electric and ease of use but now that I'm laid off and have 3 weeks before I start school again I got all the time to tinker with a nitro rc, I feel like I should be outside tuning one. Being laid off I don't really have the money to go out and buy one either, well I do but I should probably keep all that money banked just in case. Well my batteries are almost charged so I should probably go play now.

Just wondering if anyone else has ever regretted getting out of nitro completely?

For me, getting out of nitro was the best thing I ever did in this hobby. I would have left the hobby 100% if I hadnt tried electric.

If i ever did sell all my nitros for some odd reason id sure be getting me another one but look for a cheap used t maxx or something then the most you will be in is usually around $250 I actually got lucky a while back and got a "rtr" 2.5 minus a steering servo for 50 bucks

I used to buy used, until it dawned on me I was spending more money to replace and fix worn parts and engines, and in the end cost as much as new one. To me it just pays off to buy new, especially if your shopping online. No way of knowing what its been through and you know they are going to leave the bad parts out. I've been burned a few times :(

Well for $50 you can't go wrong! That's a steal.

Buying online is a no no to me i wanna see it in person and be able to turn the truck on and check servos and roll it back on fourth to feel how the tranny and drivline feels and also see what all comes with it. The most I've payed for a used truck was when i bought my revo payed 200 for it but got to drive it b4 i bought it

Yeah I wish I had opportunities to buy in person. There really isn't any local sales near me, have yet to find one :(

I've bought mine thru local "yard sale" websites and been to look at a few off craigslist which they were junk but the first thing i always tell people when I'm buying used is to me the motor is blown so I'm buying this as a roller expecting to replace the motor and that generally gets me about 50 bucks off at least

Lol nice. But that is pretty much true. I forgot about Craigslist, maybe I'll take a peek later.

I look for used all time, it seems everyone wants to sell there rc's with a couple of hop ups for more then what I could buy them for new. Those free classifieds sites seem to be full of people who went to pay nothing for a good used rc and want to sell there crap for way to much. For instance stock Tmaxx roller $250 complete with 2lbs of caked on dirt, or an hpi rs4 the old one with the belt drive $550. Because it has some Integy aluminum, spinners and tires with a flame tread pattern.

Yea i ignore those what i usually do if I'm looking for a new car is put a ad up on a few sites that I'm looking for a nitro rc and that i buy them as a roller unless i can actually drive them and that i will go no high that half what its originally bought for. Then i weed thru the poop and find a good one i let them find me lol

Or sometimes ill insult them with an offer just for the hell of it lol

I do buy off craigs but only if I get the right deal. I tell people up front I buy them fix em up and then sell em. They are usually super dirty though lol.

Not always sure why there is the either or with Nitro vs Electric. I have both.. I like both.. and both have pros and cons. I am a true addict so it doesn't matter what it runs on as long as it goes and I can crash it into something :)

Its kinda like the muscle car guys VS tuner guys. I am nitro all the way. But hey I am also a muscle car guy to. I don't like rice LOL!:hehe: Either way as long as you enjoy the hobby.
