I'm curious, do you guys refuel while the engine is still running or do you shut it down to refuel? I like to just keep it running but then something dawned on me.

Think about it, if your refueling with the engine running won't it run really lean because there is no more pressure to push fuel into the carb? Granted it doesn't take too long for me to refuel, but still.
 
I do it while running, it's only for a second and the engine is at low RPM.

I could only tell a little that it was leaning out. What made me think of it was when I put the cap back down on the fuel tank and I could hear it richen up. It was just a big difference so it got me to thinking.
 
Not the Dynamite one...I think I'm on my 3rd or 4th warranty replacement lol....Although I have the older red model they have a newer model thats blue...IDK if its any better or not.
 
I usually fueled while running. Even using a conventional squeeze bottle, it never took me more than 30 seconds to fill the tank.
 
I don't race and I guess you could call me old school but I let the motor cool down, put it at bottom dead center, and turn off the electronics. I then just check over the rc, fuel when it's cooled off and test the servos.
 
I refuel while running. Bought a fuel bottle with a large tip. 10 seconds and I'm fuel'd up

Soooo, what I got from this is, the larger tip makes you finish faster. Right? :D

I normally leave it running for refuel. I also use a large tip but my problem it I normal get it all over when I "pull it out of the tank"... nothing like overfill spillages....

I'm not sure if you are joking or not. But I remember when I was using the fuel dispenser that came with my pede and I would spill fuel when removing the tip from the tank.
 
If the engine did lean out then it would be very minor & at idle speed its not going to hurt.
Letting the engine cool before refueling would just cause more wear as you have to restart a cool engine & let it warm back up to operating temps again.
Refueling is done all the time on the track with engines that are most likely already running leaner than most & they are fine so its not going to hurt leaving the engine going & running tank after tank.
Engines run richer on a full tank & slightly lean out as the fuel gets lower anyway so if the tank is low & you refuel you will hear the engine richen up as it was slightly leaner because of low fuel, not because tank was open for a few seconds.
