I know i know i shouldnt have bought a redcat or atleast thats all I've heard but I'm new to all this and bought one. does anyone know any good upgrades for it it is a redcat rockslide supercrawler that is the 1/8th scale all i use it for is just climbing some stuff around my house but i would like some more power does anyone know any good motors that will fit it or anything else that will help me. I put about 7oz of weight in the front tires and 3oz in back and cut the foam and that made a world of difference. But if u have any help i will greatly appreciate it and again I'm new so anything will be help. thanks:D

Yes you shouldnt have, but you have it so we'll work with that. Theres not hardly any upgrades for it really. Its got 100t, yes 100t, 540 motors so you could put some Integy's in it like some 75 turn and that would help you get some wheel speed out of it.

I was thinking about different motors so u thik thnk those will fit it without any problem and what about tires what are the best tires for it unless I'm looking at the wrong thing i can't find many tires for it i see alot of smaller ones. Am i rite about the tires being bigger on it than most other crawlers being as it is a 1/8th scale. again thanks for any help

Yeap they are bigger. Theres not many good tires for the size of crawler, most guys in the "super" class use 1/10 tires then cut them up and make them bigger with a couple pair. I dont know what size wheels you have, like 3.2"????

Dont mean to be dumb but what u mean by cut them up to make them bigger?

Its hard to do nicely but you can cut up a few tires to make one bigger one, so you would use a couple, lets say HB Rover tires to make one super Rover tire. Depending on what rim size you have though, there are a few tires that will work for you better than what you are running.

Ok i just keep looking and see what i can find i thnk making one outa two will look crappy but i guess they are some amazing people out thur lol. What type of crawler would u recomend if i was to get another one if i could talk my wife into it. lol I think i would like one size smaller crawler this time

yep 1/10. Losi nite crawler is a good rig for back yard crawling. axial ax10 is also real good. I wouldnt go anything other than losi, axial, rc4wd bully or enroute berg. The axial ax10 is shaft driven and so is the losi's. The bully, axial xr10 and enroute berg are all motor on axle like yours is now.

what do u recomend moa or shaft driven. i guess there is alot more to tear up on shaft but what u think

If you're really tight for money look at a used crawler in the For Sale/Trade section or you could look at the Losi Mini Rock Crawler like I have. It's smaller (1.9" wheel vs a 2.2" for the comp size crawlers) but it's decent out of the box for backyard crawling.

Ok i thnk i like the bigger 2.2 thats why i got the redcat but its fun it just doesn't have the upgrades that i want. ill look at the losi 2.2 or axial thanks for all the help bud u been alot of help

From a stability stand point and if you ever wanted to compete in comps The MOA would be the way to go, if you just want to backyard bash go with a Shafty, all of them have multiple upgrades that can be done to make them perform better then they do out of the box, as well as lots of tire options.
