What do you know about redcat racing products? I just got my friends Lighting st for $50.00. So far it seems to be a okay car. Wicked fast and shifts farily smooth. Its in okay condition with the engine only have a gallon and a 1/4 on it. and his neigbor said that if i wanted his he would give me his for $60.00 brand new in the box. Just what do you know about the quilty of the cars and the engines?

they are a lower grade rc but i have heard ok stuff about them and you said you got it for 50.00 dollars that was a good deal i think new it is around 160.00.there are guys here that have them.so maybe they will give you more info.

i have a redcat lightning VX. problems i ran into were alot of loose screws. make sure you check EVERY screw and put locktite on the engine screws and engine mount. other than having the clutch spring break twice on me causing a mysterious tuning issue i thought i had. it has been a great on road and i do agree that it is VERY fast and shifts like a dream. i bought mine for $150 bucks and it came with a redcat tool set with pretty much everything i needed to tune and repair it. i dont know about yours but mine runs a little on the hot side getting up to about tops 265*-270* in its richest condition that i could keep it running at. electronics were good never had a problem with them and thats pretty much it. i think its a great deal to get one for 50$ or 60$ even $100 for that matter.

the only thing had I've heard about the VX engines are that they dont last extreamly long but can be replaced by better engines. VX series engines are in exceed nitros too. but other than that i would give them a thumbs up for cheapness and mild reliability. definetly worth the money.

send me a PM if you need anymore questions answered

Ya mattyfats your right its the VX. And the screw thing is a big deal. I keep having the motor slide and luckliy haven't stripped the gears yet. The pull stater just broke so i'm going to have to bump start it for a while. But have no 12v batterys. =/ This engine though i fanilly got tuned in and it runs like a dream but the temp likes it at about 195ish.

make sure you use lock tight on all the metal to metal scrwes like the engine and engine mounts. mine sometimes come loose even with the lock tight
when you start leaning your engine out to get it up to like the 250* range you will see how really fast it goes =]
than you can adjust your shift point for max accel and top speed. great little car for the money.
