Hello all, so my ascent 18 went nuts and I can't seem to figure it out. It all started when I installed the injora ir60 body and thw lights. I thought I could operate them with the spare channels but boy was I wrong! I started pressing the buttons and toggling the switch and now the freaking thing seems to be possessed.

The throttle/steering trim buttons dont seem to do anything, i flip the throttle/steering reverse switches and i get steering the right way, but the throttle is backwards and the truck stays stuck in constant reverse and the throttle is reversed on the transmitter . If I flip the switches or pressed the buttons I just get a variation of what I just described.

Nothing seems to work and I dont know what to do. Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Oh man. Sorry to hear you are having trouble. I agree with Doom.

I have the IR60 on mine, with the lights. Without getting a remote AUX on/off switch, the lights stay on as long as they are plugged in. With the remote, you can control the lights with your channel 3 switch on your transmitter. I have not picked up the switch yet, but plan to on payday.

I had some issues with turning radius on mine when turning to the left. I ended up sitting down with a couple of pages from the online manual to get everything "re-centered" and set correctly. If what Doom mentioned doesn't work, I think that would be my next step.

I am new to the RC world, but will help out if I can.

Does it work right if you unplug the lights?
If all else fails, try rebinding the transmitter to the reciever.
It doesn't work well after i unplugged the lights . I've been trying to rebind it but I either missed it on the manual or it wasn't there how to rebind.

I tried the manual yesterday adjusting the terms and atuff but if I play with the throttle trim the steering gets affected and vise versa.

Does the manual mention a calibration proceedure at all? I don't know much about these tiny crawlers.
How about the plugs? I have installed a servo wire into the receiver 180° backwards and it caused problems.
Batteries are 100% charged?
Be sure to center you radio trim adjustments.
Unplug everything and try 1 at a time and see if you can get anything at all to work right.
I don't see how hooking up lights could damage your receiver unless it was a halogen off a Chevy! 🤷‍♀️

Yes, I believe the manual does mention calibration. I just looked, calibration is on page 8.
Good call on servo plug going in backwards, I had not thought of that.

When the steering and throttle trims are in neutral it gives 2 flashes. That is what I screwed up on mine. For whatever reason I had it in my head that two flashes meant end of travel, so I had my trims all kinds of jacked up.

You might also take a look at Mode Switching on page 9, if you haven't already.

I will keep pondering....

Recalibration would be where I would start, short of rebinding.
So!.... I believe the batteries to the transmitter mightve been low... causing this stupid thing to have a ghost! I just replaced them with a different pair and it all seems to be fine... damn! I feel like such an idiot!

You aren't alone, it dawned on me about 3 minutes ago that I hadn't mentioned the damned batteries!
Glad you got it sorted out!

Thank you guys! I'm an electrician and I always wondered, why did the customer didn't bother to check the light bulb before having me come out to replace a light fixture?? .... now I know how they feel!!

We've all been there, I have had more than my fair share of DUH! moments. 🤣 I'm glad it was an easy fix, now get back to having fun!

that's hilarious. but we've definitely all been there. It's always the simplest problems with the simplest solutions which make us feel like we're losing our mind.

Just had the same problem, thanks to remembering this thread, I didn't freak out. :) so weird that low batteries in the transmitter causes the truck to have a reversed throttle.
