My son got a redcat 32 and so far we have upgraded shocks and steering linkage. After heavy usage of the car the steering quit. Servo was buzzing but no response. I know this is a common problem on these cars and tough to update because of the five wire servo.

Look at the picture of the servo. I removed it and took the top off. half of one of the gears is missing. NO BROKEN Pieces found in the servo anywhere. I can't figure out where the pieces went. Is there any possibility it is designed this way?? I removed all the gears and hooked the servo up to the controller and as soon as you power everything on the servo pinion spins non stop with no input from the remote! Super weird. Initiating a steering comand on the remote does nothing. Pinion just spins until you turn off power to the car.

I ordered a new stock servo from redcat but would love to upgrade this. Any options without having to upgrade all the controls? Can I make a 3 wire work with the stock 5 wire plug on the control unit??

Second pic is the course he made.
