The first thing I would do is find out which brand your local hobby shop carries, when you break it it will be easy to get parts for it. It sounds like a nice stadium truck will fit your needs but if you can get the Revo at a good price I say go for it. With some suspension tuning and a tire change it will do ok on road.
As for the noise...it will be loud. If you make it quite the performance will suffer and thats never fun.
