my pullstart came out a while ago, luckily I have a guy down the street that loves working on these cars, and helped me out.

is the special "pullstart rope" different from reg. rope because its fuel resistant??

I think that is part of it, that way, when it gets wet... it doesn't un-braid.

It is nothing more special than any other nylon braid. I would not use regular packing string or cotton based string on the pull start. There are a number of great substitute strings out there if you do not like the three dollar strings that most companies sell as a replacement. BUT for the price and the performance, why change?

yea, when my pull start string breaks, I will prob just replace it with the "real" stuff. That way, I wont encounter any problems (if any).
