Receiver Wire Got Cut Short =/

hey everyone. i was running my tmaxx toady and i had a bad flip/cartwheel/roll/end over end/land in the bushes accident.... anyway, it was pretty bad. it landed wheels up and i flipped it back, took the dirt and grass out of the body clips and fired it up again and was riding it for awhile. after awhile of riding i noticed my reciever antenna was really short. it got cut off right where is comes out of the tube thing. will this cause any problems with frequency range on my truck? that receiver was like brand new. i just replaced it. is there anything i can do besides buying another receiver if this messes up my radio?

Ha Thats funny I did the exact same thing today. I kept running it. I tested the range and it didnt seem to affect it at all. I went across the length of a soccer field and then some. I think as long as the wire is still as long as the blue tube we are fine. I dont really want to buy a new rx just for that either.

lol that is funny. this happened to me before, my wire got cut and i took it too the hobby store and they told me i needed a whole new one which cost like 35 bucks >.> i couldnt really test the range cuz i was in my back yard but when i get more gas and take it to the field at the elementary school up the street ill test it

You can just buy a new wire, remove the old one from the circuit board then solder in a new one:

You should cut it to the stock length though. A shorter antenna will hamper range and promote interference/glitching.

i could do that too. money is an issue though. i need to buy so much and i dont have a job. building a computer is expensive.....

Ha, Same thing happend to me today too...I just solderd the two peices together and heatshrinked. Haven't noticed any problems.
