okay sent my Savage for a flip and slide on the roof :D antenna tube pulled out and it took a chunk out of the receiver antenna :( question is:
do I need to use the exact wire to fix/repair it? My kid has a toy RC that is no longer functional but it does has a wire antenna!!! If I cut it and splice it to my receiver, I don't see any reason it won't work.

Opinions??

I have lost my over all range with the damaged antenna I get to about 120ft and it freezes.

If you call hpi they will probably send a rx for free if its still the stock system. just call and ask, I know in the past they used to.

just did a splice and add on to what was left. nice and long now. back to LOTS of range! when I went to splice it the OG antenna actually broke in 2 in my fingers :\ so it's a wonder why I had so little range lol. thnx to my kids R/C that was all busted up. but the antenna was still good :D
