Ok so I crashed it, and pretty good too. The only thing i thing i could have hit I did and wrapped the front around a sign beam. And I mean wrapped, the front bulkhead exploded, pieces of plastic where showering down 20 feet away. I lost both upper front a-arms including pins and one pulled thru the knuckle, the front bulkhead in in 10 pieces(even the aluminum front piece is bent), the diff is leaking, the entire steering system is shot including both servos(ones striped the other is stripped and had the nub sheared off), and lastly I could not find the bumper.

So most of the stuff is on the way, but I have a couple of questions about the diff.
Any tips on rebuilding it? Its leaking and the case was damaged. I have a new case coming but is there a gasket set I need? And will I need new diff oil? Should I just buy a new one?
thanks

edit: also I'm going to need extra screws what do you guys think of this universal set,

The dif rebuild kit will come with what you need, gaskets, planet gears and pins. You will need to buy oil as well, don't just put grease in there. Stock dif oil in the Revo is 30K. Also makes sure you install it correctly, there will be an up stamped into the outer case. Also, use a little water proof grease like Mobil 1 synthetic or Bel Ray on the outdrives where they go into the dif. It would probably be in your best interest to strip the whole thing down and look over the chassis to make sure it's not tweaked.

good call, thanks.
I'm probably going to just get a new one and spend some time rebuilding the other later.

I was just looking over the rest of the car and I noticed something....when I have the trans set for forward and I move the remaining wheels backwards I get clicking from the trans. This only happens when I move the car in the opposite direction it is set to go and when the clutch bell/flywheel(I think thats what that is) moves with the wheels. This could be normal I can't remember, but theres a good chance I stripped something since the drive shaft was stopped so quickly. If it is stripped I'll just get another one as rebuild this one later.
thanks

If you hear grinding the transmission gears are stripped. Open that little port thing in the top of the transmission and have a look. I did that when I tightened the spur gear all the way when I first got the car lol.

I bought like 3 sets of gears till I realized how dumb I was.

well I have the front end back together, I still need to change out the servos and its looking good. Its ended up being much easier then I thought it was going to be.

As for the trans clicking, the white gears inside the porthole seem to be fine, what I did find was 5 teeth missing from the gear attached to the clutch, Whats that called again? Just for clarification I can only see two gears inside the port, since their ok can I assume the trans itself is ok?

Man that was a hard hit, full throttle, I didn't see it coming at all. Total cost so far is about 80 bucks, but most of that was from the to sock servos and my new aluminum RDL upper arms.

thanks for all the help, I keep this updated.

Edit: Ok its the spur gear, but what is the stock tooth count? And how does the tooth count affect the acceleration/top speed? thanks

I think stock is 38, but I could be wrong...

Spur:
Less teeth = more speed, less acceleration
More teeth = less speed, more acceleration

CB:
Less teeth = less speed, more acceleration
More teeth = more speed, less acceleration

EDIT:
The 2.5R revo manual says 38/15 is stock. (spur/CB)

ya but my someday came the 3rd time I drove it, at least the hardest part was only counting the broken pieces.

I'm about to change out the spur but before I start pulling screws out are there any tricks to doing this? I noticed that there is very little room to work near the spur and CB(thats the gear off the crankshaft right?). How am I supposed to get the proper seat between those to gears with so little room?

Can I change it out without pulling the trans?

Any help would be good thanks

Edit: Ok I've got the spur out, I keep getting surprised how easy this is to work on. Still need to know how to seat it properly, or will it just fall back into place?

edit: Ok I figured it out, the two screws in the motor mount are used to adjust it. I don't know how you guys get paper in there as a guild but i just separated them until I could feel no extra friction, seems good to me.
