rear differential is not connecting with conical gear on savage x how do i fix

I have taken the back of and looked at it a thousand times and there is about a quarter of an inch between conical gear and the planitary gear what can i buy or do to fix this.

The only thing I can think is that your missing a bearing or something. Is it the gears that are that far from each other or is it the tip of the input gear that far from the case the spider gears are in?

There should be two bearings on the input/pinion shaft and one on each side of the diff itself.

Reminds me of whenever i pull something apart or build it, oh look i have spare parts!
