I recently upgraded to the FOC and rear brake conversion. I noticed when installing the discs that they didn't exactly move freely on the hub. I didn't think anything of it until not only the hub melted but the bolts in the tranny case.

So, first I have to replace the tranny case. Next I have to get another rear brake assembly and when I install this one I have to ensure the disks move freely.

Is anyone aware of any rear brake upgrade kits? Maybe some Aluminum parts? I know using shoulder bolts will be much better at allowing the pads to move freely.

Any other suggestions would be greatly appretiated!

Use small springs between the pads to help keep the pads off of the rotors.

Great advice for anyone needing to reduce brake drag.

Here are the springs at AMAIN

You can also cut ball point pen springs into 1/4 inch segments and put them in there. They'll be strong enough to hold em apart and it's free!

:)
how is it free?
you a pen thief?

Riding on a threaded shaft is NOT good for free movement. If you want to improve that without shoulder bolts, see exactly what length you need, slip on the tightest piece of shrink tubing and heat it up to tighten it in place. I also recommend the springs.

I'm runnin the ofna springs up front. i've got 3 on each side of the brake. works real nice.
never have i once had a problem with the rear. been running the same rear brakes for almost 3 years.. might be time to replace the pads. lol

When you installed the rear originally did you have to mill out the slots so they moved freely? I noticed when I first installed them they were a bit rough. I thought they may wear in but melt...not so much.
