actually from my experiance with chineese and taiwaneese companies, id say PRP's version is likely to be very accurate. as a country we have lost a lot of jobs to them due to thier way of buisness. this is just another example of it happening again.

well it must be christmas time everyone is getting touchy,
I gotto disagree there corrado, alot of the loss of Jobs is not due to the asians but due to the fact that the bussiness in the states can contract the work over seas and get it made and shipped cheaper than local labour and manufacture, the problem lies in parallel importing and goverment legislation, states need to wear a bit of the blame on its own shoulders for that problem, we have the same deal over here, due to the short sightedness of our goverment, and the greed of retailers
Australia have some interesting laws to stop the loss of jobs to OUT WORK by saying that if it can or is made in there country there is only a small number that can be imported to insure the jobs of its country, it just depends on the gread of the factories that make the product as to how well it will sell and if they stay afloat.

i agree mike, by "thier way of buisness" i meant thier undercutting our production costs and taking contracts from US manufactures. have you noticed the cost of steel has risen lately? they are buying up all the scrap steel they can get because they just can't produce it fast enough. kinda scarey.

hmmm yeah makes you wonder whats gonna happen in the near future, our buggies might be worth gold :)
I forgot that you were a machinisty sort of person, you must get hit by it as well huh

Oh by the way Corrado Merry Christmas:)

Wow this has gotten off the subject just a bit. Must disagree here Chris, they under cut our prices but producing it for CHEAP. Labor cost is soooo low, they get as much in a week as we do in a hour. Not shady, just cheaper. Granted there are sweat shops and such that are illegal, but they also work like fiends in non-sweatshops.

Most of us(not me) are overpaid for what we do/don't do.( big stupid,Dudley, all of 1st shift)Remember if you think its bad in the USA,look how much Germany has lost to the Eastern Bloc nations.

Corrado,

Your way of thinking would also suggest that the east Indian stereotype guy driving cab or working at 7 eleven is taking away jobs as well, its just not true.

The way Asian countries do business is just business. You see the same thing with my previous analogy. Wal Mart vs the corner store. Just think of the corner store as the USA and Wal Mart as China. Wal Mart's costs are cheaper, so they can sell for cheaper. China's greatest assest is its people, meaning cheap labour, they do not need to be efficient because of the cheap labour.

America really needs to wake up regarding this whole issue. Trade barriers go up everywhere trying to protect the 'American Way', however, all that is happening is jobs are going overseas. Why would a company locate in Los Angeles or fargo for that matter when Beijing is ten times cheaper, with the same Americans buying the product?

Your view of things are quite left wing thinking, just doesn't make sense to me. However, like you said, we are all entitled to our opinions. Look hard and see, even if something is actually made in America these days, I bet you that at least some component has something to do with China or Asia in general. There is no getting around price in business, until America can get its costs down, it will get worse before its gets better. Free Enterprise at its finest.

geeze when i asked about a buggy i had no idea what a political nightmare i was getting into
LOL man you guys need to lighten up a bit aye its christmas after all, if you aint got families go to the corner and buy one for the day :)

as i stated its my opinion, according to your way of thinking (walmart vs. corner store) all local hobby shops should be out of buisness soon due to much cheaper internet sales. I'm not saying that what happened wasn't free enterprise. I'm stating that i support PRP and not RDLogics in this latest free trade endeavor. i belive that you read too far into my posts, and as a result i felt compelled to defend myself beyond what i wanted to state in my initial posts.

Can't we all just get along?? LOL

Lets stop reading into things and talk about whats important,1/8th buggies!

When will you be seeing the shipment Mike?

All of the LHS in my city went bankrupt when Tower Hobbies went online in the early 90's. They are now coming back, serving those who want personal service. I buy wherever is cheaper, just because I need to stretch the dollar. I do not fault Tower for destroying my favourite hang out when I was a kid. :)
