does anybody have any feed back for the RDL Twin Exhaust Two Piece Pipe for 2.5 with duel stingers.

i just bought one online and i have not recieved it yet. excited about getting it but i have read alittle about it and people are saying that the back pressure will not be their and some people are saying that it has more power sounds great and no issues with it the best upgrade they have bought for their tmaxx.

so for the tmaxx gods out their any info

Correct me if I'm wrong here, but arent the dual exhausts crap? Everyone I ever seen talk about them says about how poor their rig ran after installing one.

I have no idea, they just said it was, so i said ok. I know the owner of one of the shops personally, so i know he wouldn't BS me.

i was just looking through old threads and alot of people are saying the dual exhaust sucks but i haven't read any thing about somebody who has one installed on their tmaxx who has posted a thread on it.

Tuned pipes are almost like a trumpet or trombone. They are designed to pulse in such a way that the exhaust get drawn in and pushed out more efficiently, letting the engine run at more of a peak. (Also the reason for calling them 'tuned' since they are tuned to a specific pitch, or note where that engine runs at its' best.)

Rear exhaust looks super cool, but to the best of my knowledge it's not tuned, but just a muffler. Also, in most cases there's more than one pipe, reducing the pressure back to the fuel system.

I have one here that cost $67 that I planned to put on after the break in, but this one has 4 pipes, and I expect to do some serious adjusting of the outputs and the carb to "maybe" run right. If not, it will look pretty on a shelf, for that price.

Since it's going on a Big Block 4.6, it might act differently than a higher RPM engine. I'll let you know.

ya i also talked to the lhs and the only thing he said was that its for looks, i was kind of like cool and beat feet.

wow uh.....uhhhhhh...... that about broke it down. see that tuning part thats going to be painful!! So are we talking about minor tuning. Do you know if it will ruin the engine?

what if you fill in the holes on the exhaust and bore it out to a hole much smaller than the stock hole, maybe that might cause you to make slight adjustments due to having more back pressure so it will still be like a trumpet or trombone. what do you think ROLEX

Try clogging all the pipes except for one. Curve the open pipe upwards and start the engine. If it sounds like a Tenor Sax than you know its tuned right and will run at top performance.

That's what I'll be doing, plugging one at a time and testing as I go. It might work with only one opening on the right, since that's where the pipe enters, or it might need to pulse down and exit on the left. Then it comes down to how much of an opening there needs to be. It will be some experimenting, but we'll see how it works. Again, since it's a low end grunt big block, it might work out. That, some re-tuning and re-gearing, and it might pay off with the extra bling.

works fine

the tuned pipe works fine. its a little louder but youl get used to it.the nice thing is that i keeps all that crud off that side of the truck

sounds like a plan any ideas on a material that will work on clogging the holes?
and handle a drill bit to bore it back out. ROLEX those are the same pipes I ordered but it is blue. I had no idea that these pipes would have such a effect on the engine (causeing retuning and maybe more engine wear). You would think they would make the pipes so that it would give you the properback pressure so there is no need for any adjustments.

As for clogging the holes, may JB Weld would work?

I once asked frickenjoey about rear exhaust and he brought up a good point. The first couple of times you wheelie your t-maxx you scratch it to hell and back or you rip it off. That kinda made me stay away.

JB Weld is my first thought.
I agree that the pipes should be engineered out of the factory to perform as well as a side pipe. Otherwise there's no point.

well I going to make a project out of my dual exhaust. maybe measure the circumfrence of the stock pipe and have the holes on the dual exhaust combined equal to it. So with my great military mind it should get the same back pressure anybody else agree or am I blowing smoke up my own butt.
going to use JB weld and drill ity bity holes through it.
