Alright. Need some answers from everyone attending.

I figure for one of the days, we can doa tourist thing. Have it narrowed down, but need some input as to what everyone would rather do.

We can: Go to Universal Islands of adventure theme park.
Go to Kennedy Space Center to see the Shuttle
Go on an Airboat ride and see some alligators

Also - Who here is a drinker, and who isnt? Do we want to go downtown, or to city walk one of the nights?

Another thing - although it might be cold - do we have anyone coming that hasnt seen the beach? it is about 45 minutes away.

Finally - what hotel ratings does everyone want to stay at? Should i be searching for the cheapest possible, or does everyone want something a lil nicer? also - how many miles away from my house and the track is someone willing to stay, for a cheaper rate? lemmi know.

Here are some websites for the various things i listed to do:

Islands of Adventure

Kennedy Space Center

Orlando Air boat rides

The beach

Universal Citywalk

If it's alright with me I think I'll just stick to my RC stuff for the weekend. I mean it kinda complicates stuff adding too many things to do while there. I think I will be more than able to amuse myself for 2 or 3 days with RC stuff.

MAAAAAAAN, I wish I could go! !@#$%^& work gets heavy at that time of year! Hey, when will there be something near here in the vicinity of NYC and Long Island?

Only reason I'm asking that is because I can leave the wife for the day. I tried talking to her about going to Florida, but she kinda gave me that look of "Go ahead and let's see how angry I get." Reason is that she wants to go but she knows that all I'll wanna do is play with the "toys."

I told her that she could play too, but with her own r/c. :contract: Told her that she has to get her own r/c first though. Only because I remember what she did to my NTC3 and wouldn't want her to do the same to anyone elses.

MAN, I WANNA GO!

The final date doesn't work for me.
I just finished putting my Exhibit schedule together and I have a 2 day computer show on the 10th and 11th :\

The 3rd and 4th or the 17th and 18th would have worked. If anything changes I will try and make it. You never know.

I will be there in spirit.

anyone else have a conflicting date. important to get the mods to go... i would be willing to push it back a week

A week later would work fine for me. I would like there to be more than just one member of the rcnt staff there. I will be there either weekend though.

Pretty much ditto on that. I'd like to see the beach, but that'll last all of about an hour. Maybe some of Orlando too, mostly the LHS's, which will be a given if EP doesn't pack enough spare parts. But all in all, I'd be going to burn the nitro.

A week later is fine with me. I agree with EP and error. I will be coming to meet the others and burn some nitro with em but I don't mind taking a little time to see some things while I am down there. But only if it is a group decision.

ok, somebody make a date so i can figure out if i can come or not. anytime is good w/me as long as i get some notice. i know you fellas didn't expect me to come, but i have to show you what texas can do. are you ready?? give me some dates!!!!

So what are we talking about, 15th - 18th ?? I'm going to really try to make it... I gotta finish some remodeling projects before I can give a positive answer...

Glad to see my co-pilot agrees.

I too agree with Pirata and Error, I prefer just nitro burnin' too over the tourist traps during the day, but... City Walk at night would be a great idea, lots of places to eat drink and be merry. :wasted:

I am there whenever we set it, lets just get it set. Didn't SkyMaxx say he too could make the later date?

Eddy?

skymaxx wasn't gonna be able to attend unless it was in feb or later. i dont wanna wait that long. if we push the dates back a week, will that increase the amount of people, and will anyone that is okay to go on the current dates, jan 8th-11th, have a problem and be unable to attend if we move it back a week to the 15th?

so its a no go on universal? gotcha. city walk is great though, we will do that one evening.

plus, our LHS's are the bomb, thats like disney tomost of us, lol.

NA, I hate to say it but you're trying to be a people pleaser. No matter what dates we pick they will be a conflict with someone's schedule. As I said before, pick a date and stick with it. Who cares that a few people were unable to attend because the dates conflicted with previous engagements. You'll always run that risk and as the date slowly grows closer, those who have committed may not be able to change their schedule again as a result of trying to get more people to go. The other end may happen, you'll lose more people than you gain. We had a thread about the dates and it was decided at that time that the current dates are the best for the vast majority of the members, let's stick with that.

Update: There may be a possibility that I might not attend no matter what date is set. It is a remote possibility, but it does exist. I just got off the phone with one of the two guys I work with, and will be talking to the other one in a few minutes. Tomorrow is more than likely our last day at our present employer (and with good riddance). We are planning on starting our own business and will have to hit the ground running when we launch. Janurary is a ways off, and business may be such that I can make it, but at this point, I can't say 100% that I can. I just want EP and everyone else know what the situation is on my end. I do want to come (never been to FL), and I want to bash with you guys, but the way things are looking, I might be working my tail off doing the business thing.

Later would be better for me, but don't count that in the big mix. Set a date and stick to it. I'l try to work things on my end whatever is decided.

EP, I hope ya understand, I'm not trying to bail, but that's about how things are panning out here.

Whitt....

think we should go with el p on this? we did hold a vote before, and decide that the 8-11 would be the dates? those were the dates that won, so those should be the dates, regardless. agreed?

Agreed. I think we should stick with the set dates.

Sorry to hear the news error. I hope you can get things hashed out so you can attend.

Real quick I might be able to make it if someone can throw a round about date at me, I would be making it a road trip from Louisiana, and prob bringing a friend, let me know something

aj - the dates are staying where they are. you can see them on the first page of this thread. It will be held from JAN8 - JAN11

update!

Ok guys - here is the scoop. I spoke with adam at the track. we can rent it for the entire 4 days, Thursday to Sunday, for 120.00 Total. He will also supply food, beverages and other items. Along with that, he will set up several tents to use in the pits, and make sure the track is well groomed. A big thanks to him for being such a nice guy. Here are some more photos of the track, and surrounding area.
