RC18t goes slower forward than backward

 I know that but the rear end gets more abuse because the weight shifts to the rear on takeoff. Either way it's only temporary anyways.

I'll try it, thanks HB.

Does anyone sell metal diff gears for the RC18? I know it's a ball diff so I just want the input gears.

There are some metal gears made for it, but I cannot remember who makes them off hand. I think RRP (Robinson) if they're still around makes them... Otherwise

You know what I feel really stupid now. Turns out the spur and motor weren't close enough and the spur was slipping. Please. Hit me.

Thanks for the link though, I'll look into it.

Also, it started doing that damned slow forward thing.

I took it through a big puddle of water. I'm flying down the street at 20 mph at least and I see a friggin rooster tail when it hit a puddle in the gutter that I didn't see. I immediately pulled the battery and flipped it upside down. Doesn't appear to be damaged but I'll let it dry for 24 hours.

OK so now it won't go in reverse. It also goes really slow in forward. And, I only get about 3 minutes of runtime before it starts crapping out. Then my charger only charges it for 2 minutes.

Any clues?

This thing is fun while it lasts and I don't want to spend any more money on it.

*tears hair out* I'm going to kill my brother, I swear to god. He did something to it and now I can't even put the battery on without it going full blast. Even with the switch off, radio on. Either the RX is dead or the ESC is but I'm going to ask my neighbor about it and find out. If he doesn't know then it's going to the LHS and they'll put new parts in there for free (I hope)

Yep. It's dead. Today I went to try and run it and when I put in the battery it went full blast (without the switch set to "on") and I saw the blue smoke of death.

*loud exhale*

Dunno what to tell ya there amigo... I've been debating selling the stock ESC/motor from my RC18B.... I might post it up in the for sale section coming up.

How much you thinking of selling it for? I know new is like 40 bucks. If you would hold it for me until I have enough cash to honestly pay you (tired of going through my dad since it always leaves me in debt) I'd be grateful. I mow up to 5 yards every other week now that the rains have started and get about 20 bucks per. Shouldn't be too long, maybe 4 weeks at the most.

I'd like to get about $35 for it, shipped, including the stock motor, but I'm open to offers. It has a Deans Ultra connector on the battery lead, and Deans Micro2R connectors between ESC and Motor.

Here's a picture of it (it's listed in the for sale section);

I can hold onto it for ya, just send me a PM when you're ready to purchase it.

Well, now, there's your problem: you let the magic smoke out of the box and now the box won't work anymore.

Seriously though, I ended up having to change out an ESC on my 18t for a similar problem from a different source.
