Hi I plan on purchasing either the rc10gt rtr or the team kit version. I do want to race but i also want to make it durable. BUt first off what would be a good engine to get started in racing?? I'm not even sure if i am goign to like it so nothin too expensive.

Thanks Frank

Any O.S would be good. Check out the .15 CV-RX, its fast, easy as heck to tune, and its not that expensive.

just some advice on the rtr: my friend got it as his first rc, gas or electric. it's probably because he knows NOTHING about nitr engine's, or rc in general, but he is having the hardest time getting his running. he's run maybe 10 tanks in the past 2 months since he got it. i havn't been around him when he's been running it, though, so 'm not sure as to what he's doing wrong.

I got a gt rtr for my first truck and i have had no problems what so ever......well.....no unusual problems. when you hit a curb at full speed things tend to break if you know what i mean.
i think its an excellent truck for the money. and all you need is a few batteries and some fuel and your ready to roll. it all depends if you want the truck NOW or you want to take the time to build it.

wut an os .12 be good to start off in racing??

get the FT team kit. If you want to race, it will be best in the long and short run. As far as engines go, some clubs will let you rin a .15 and others others wont. if you want to be completely legal then go with a .12. There are two I would recommend.

1. o.s. tr 12 it is a rear exhaust engine, you can get it with a rotary carb too, then you don't have to jack with the linkage.

2 the other is the Mugen MT.12

either of those engines should give you more than enough umpphh to make you competitive in the power department, as for your driving skills, neither engine will help you there :naughty:

sorry did not read all the posts first.....I say go for the O.S. .12 CV-R w/10ER Rotary Carb. Why you ask? I use it in my car and hold my local track record so it has more than enough power to get you around the track in record time.

okay if i do decide to buy that then i will get the .12 cvr

With proper break-in and maintenance the engine will serve you very well for a long time. Have fun!
