are there any parts that are essential hop ups for the RC10GT? whihc online supplier best stocks their parts.. tower?

get a new TX and RX and some servos... what is your price range? and take the carb restrictor out...

i got a Airtronics MX-3 so I'm gonna swap out that reciever for an airtronics. what kind of steering servo? is the carb resitrictor that little white thing on top, how do i take it out?

what is your price range for the servos? and yes its the white thing... use a screw driver..

by the way when you take restrctor out its gunna change your tune...

right now i dont have a price range, i guess I'm in the moderate range of about $150 right now i just want t see what to look at to see what to save towards.

cheap way to it.. get two hitec 625s
more expensive but better servos.. get two hi tec 925s..
there ismroe but you will be just fine with 2 925's

yea all you REALLY need is to take off is the carb restrictor and the truck really needs a new stearing servo! I'm gonna try to drop an airplane one in and ill get back to you

Just make sure you get a beefy steering servo. I had a GT a few years back and I kept stripping the plastic servo gears. I'd recommend a metal gear servo and a Kimbrough servo saver just for added protection.

I've driven my friends rc10 and I've helped him out a lot... as soon as that carb restrictor came out and the throtle servo went in DAMN! that thing changed so much.. with the new thrtole servo you also get more brakes... i wanna buy his sadium truck off of him cause its jsut been sitting there.. then ill throw in a .12 3 port and start racing with that too... its fun to drive those things..

I'd second the Hitec servo suggestion, but I'd use a 625MG steering (as said, with Kimbrough Gas Truck servo saver) and a 925MG throttle/brake. The 925MG makes setting up the TRS such a breeze.

Other essential parts: 6V 1200mAh (or thereabouts) NiMH battery pack and charger, decent failsafe (I use a few different brands on different cars, but the Ofna Micro failsafe is my favourite due to it's handy size).

Just my thoughts on the subject.

I raced my factory team gt all season long last year.

what are you planning to do with your gt. That will really dictate what you need to buy.

I agree though, for starters, you will want to buy some good servo's and also while you are at it get a nice reciver pack.

Best cheap strong servo for the money is the JR z590 metal gear. I used one last year for sterring for a couple months, and then switched it to throttle and was very happy with it. It'll be put into back up duty this year however in place of some higher end airtronics stuff. I think it was 40 bucks, and it is still going strong.

oh if you are going to get the rx pack then you are gunna need a recharger.. prophet plus... I LOVE mine.. its so handy at the track... loud so you can hear it... but it sucks when you are at home..

for charger I vote for a duratrax intellipeak. I personally have the digital one, and love it. Keep an eye on ebay and you can pick one up for under 100 bucks. Great little charger.

I'm going for 2 625's one @ a time s,teering first. that 925 is way too much for me I'm just gonna bash no need for my servos to cost half the price of my car. i will take the carb restrictor out on saturday morning before i try to crank. thanks guys. ill also be looking into this prophet plus charger!

i would break in your truck before taking out the restrictor,i did that with mine and break in went nice and smooth.

on the other hand my dad took his out before he even fired it and break in was extremly touchy-feely with the needles.

my friend has 2 625's... stil a huge change.. carful u can't just jam the steering to one side now... my friend did that and t-boned the wall.. befoer you get the charger look for a 5 cell receiver pack.. id sugest the orion marathon 1200..

o thank god i read losers post, i would have went in and mangled that restrictor off in a few seconds if i didnt read that post.
