Wow! You got this together quick!
I'm glad the $ worked out for you too!
Its a nice looking buggy!
I was cleaning out my garage last night.
I have piles of parts, bolts, nuts, clips etc from my Focus...
I'm a qualified mechanic at least to the extent that I don't have "extra" when I 'm done assembling. When you buy parts, they come with clips and extra bolts or new hardware etc...
Extra parts... smh! 🤣🤣🤣

thank you! I got a few things to finish but last package comes today with what I need and then it’s just to wait for electronics and paint the body

Nice!
It will be done soon then!
I'm looking forward to seeing the finished buggy now!

eh “soon” i’m waiting to buy the electronics lol

I understand.
My resto-mod project already split into resto another Optima project thats been waiting for 30 years...
Its expensive so is limiting!
Soon is relative! 🤣
It going to be worth the wait though!
If I can't source another belt for my Mid, its going to take a month from S Korea!

You could always roll the dice with a chinese bue can special. Some ppl have had good luck with them. Some ppl buy them in bulk and just keep the junk ones for parts.
I bought a Spektrum 3800kv from Jennys cheap imo and its still rocking!
My esc still works good too although it seems like Spektrum is kind of an un-racer's choice. Great deal at Jenny's too!

eh I could idk I feel like I shouldn’t cheap on this though lol

I agree, for long term its not the best solution for a race buggy but its pretty cheap and lets you run the car til you have enough saved for what you need.

I might do that for my slash tbh at least that way I can at least get going with my buggy with the nice stuff and have the cheap in my slash

I don't have any experience with those motors first hand so I don't want to try to sway you. They just seem like a good inexpensive option for someone to get running with.
From there its easier to tell what gear you might want to install too.
Maybe you like a 13.5 motor and that 6.5 you were eyein- is too fast for your track or skill level? Maybe you decide this motor sucks and you want a 6.5? Its a starting point that didn't cost too much imo.

Get a 6.5! I want the mod class to come back!

Even tho I run 13.5 stock class
But my uncle runs a 6.5 in his X-ray
maybe i’ll run that when I get a 2wd buggy haha we will see i’m kinda limited on that right now haha

that makes sense i’ll def check it out though and since it’s cheap I can keep as spares

You sure it isn’t the spring cup clicking against the rear arms? Someone said mixing the left and right arms causes this.
