RC10 T3 upgrade suggestions?

Taking into consideration that I have a long time till I'm even considering racing. I was curious what are the tried-and-true upgrades?

I read something about replacing the bushings with bearings.

Bearings are a must-have upgrade if you're going for anything above stock....even stock they're a great upgrade! But going with faster motors means you're spinning things a lot faster, so with bushing you're really holding yourself back.

Stock, the T3 came with a LRP Runner speedo and an ok closed endbell 20t motor. Start with the bearings (you can find complete bearing kits out there), and then upgrade to a better mod motor. The LRP Runner can handle motors down to 17t...and the good thing about the LRP ESC's is that they all come with a lifetime warranty.

Also, if you're going to get into any kid of racing, it might be a good idea to upgrade the radio. The stock one works, but it's pretty cheesy and can't do any very accurate adjustments.

I already have a speed gems motor (unsure of the turns off hand). Where exactly are the bushings?

All throughout the truck. They are on the wheels and inside the tranny. On the front, they sit inside the front wheels, on the back they sit inside the knuckles, right behind the pin that hold the wheel. There aren't many on the T3, so it won't cost you much to upgrade.

gil are you sure about the lrp runner going down to 15 turns?....
i had one on my tc3 and everything i read said it could go to 18 turns

Woops, sorry. It's 17t! It can handle 4-8 cells and down to a 17t motor. Thanks for catching that RP.

I have a speed gems motor modified, novak esc, and the shock towers have been changed but not sure what they are. I guess all I really need are the bearings. What are good ones?
