It’s certainly possible. But you’ll probably lose the tub chassis. Might as well just buy a used B5M and run that.

AE has some B5-based mid motor cars even in their current lineup, such as the SR10M and DR10M, not to mention the huge selection of Pro2 series rear motor vehicles.

Spares and upgrades for a B5 or B5M aren’t going to become unavailable anytime soon.

Yea. Just wanted to know as my buddy has a RB10 which was originally a dr10 but buggy converted. Well it's a bit beat up. Had a beetle body and needs some TLC with the shocks.

Gonna wait till black Friday to see if Amain has any deals on a new 2wd kit. If not I'll see if one of my other buddies that is currently selling a b6.3 roller for 160 bucks, and if he still has it I'll probably get it. If not RB10 would be my best bet. Ideally modern mid motor would be better for me so I can try to run with my old racing buddies in the 17.5 class and be up there with them. Although one of the other carpet tracks they just started running a novice hobbywing 21.5 spec class and this guy with a RB10 did pretty well. (It was his first race on carpet too)

My RB10 is built from a DR10 kit so I can see where you’re coming from.

If you want a cheap AE mid-motor buggy for casual racing, I think a used B5M or any B6 series would do the job as parts are still available for all of these.

If you want a cheap RB10, Hobby Recreation Products has the "LT10SW" rtr for just $175-$200, its mostly the same thing but dressed as a truck.
